Private Frank Terry, Company C

        Franklin Tarry listed on the roster of the 26th Wisconsin, Company C is really Franz Thiry a.k.a. Frank Terry, born 21 November 1841, Butzdorf, Germany. The Thiry family was from Greiveldinger, Luxembourg. The Terry family came to Paris, Kenosha County, Wisconsin in 1846. Frank Terry was supposed to have gone to the gold fields in California. When he came back he enlisted in the 26th.
        He was married 30 January 1866 to Magdalena Buchmann at St. John the Baptist Church in Paris, Wisconsin.
        Frank died in Racine, Wisconsin on 17 April 1915.
