To the Adjutant Gen.
in Madison, Wis.
Sir:
The undersigned Captain of Company F. 26th Wis. Vols. certify on
honor that H. Dieterich of my company was taken prisoner on July
1st, 1863 near Gettysburg, that he was reported missing since
the 1st day of November, 1863, the time of his return to the
Rgt., he being duly exchanged.
It furthermore states that his wife, Julia Dieterich now living
in town Gibson, Manitowoc City has been deprived of the
authorized state aid and therefore this certificate.
