Record and Pension Office,
WAR DEPARTMENT,
Washington, May 7, 1895.
Respectfully returned to
The Adjutant General of Wisconsin,
Madison.
The records of this office
show that Henry Urich was enrolled August 14, 1862 to serve three years,
and mustered in as a private in Company C, 26th Regiment Wisconsin Volunteers
September 17,1862; was wounded at Resaca, Georgia, May 15 1864, and furloughed;
was transferred to list Battalion Veteran Reserve Corps, December 20, 1864,
at Madison, Wisconsin, and (as an unassigned private of that organization)
was discharged the service, July 49 1865 at post hospital, Milwaukee, Wisconsin,
on surgeon's certificate of disability.
His name has not been
found on the rolls of either of these organizations as Henry Verich.
The paper submitted by
you appears to have been intended as the discharge certificate of Henry
Urich, and an endorsement has this day been placed on the same to show
the correct name and organization, the correct date of enrollment, and
date of transfer to Veteran Reserve Corps.
By authority of the Secretary
of War:
(Signature unreadable)
Colonel, U. S. Army
Chief of Office.
1 enclosure.
