"The fiftieth anniversay celebration of the 26th Wisconsin Infantry, volunteer regiment of Civil War Soldiers, was held Aug. 21, 1912 on the grounds of the Whitefish Bay resort. This picture, taken before the bandstand, was sent to the Journal by William L. Schmidt, 2603 W. Atkinson Av. The late John Winkelman is pictured in the top row at the right next to the flag. Might few of the veterans who attended the golden anniversary celebration are left."
